My path to becoming a therapist was far from linear. Before counseling, I spent nine years in public education working with children and families. During that time, I learned that there is often much more going on behind the scenes than what is presented on the outside. I learned that what we’re carrying internally often shows up in how we connect, communicate, and show up for the people in our lives.
I also know what it’s like to wear a lot of hats. I’m a mom, sister, wife, friend, daughter, and now therapist. All of those roles have shaped who I am and how I show up in this work. They’ve also taught me how easy it can be to get caught up in taking care of everything and everyone while losing touch with what you need.
That’s part of why I have a special place in my work for women and families going through times when life just feels like a lot. When your thoughts are loud, your emotions feel hard to sort through, or your relationships feel complicated, therapy can be a place to make sense of it all.
Sunroom Therapy is a space where you can come as you are, on the good days and the bad ones, for the wins and the losses. There may be tears, there may be laughs, and there’s room for the whole spectrum of emotions in between. Sunroom is an affirming and inclusive practice that welcomes people of all identities, cultures, backgrounds, and experiences. Come as you are, and give yourself the space to heal, figure things out, and have support along the way.
